About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Director of Systems Architecture to join our growing engineering team at Cambridge GaN Devices. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership in the development of new GaN Power Devices and ICs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the System Architecture team in line management and technical management
  • Manage product requirements definition and specification for new product developments in collaboration with marketing, business development, and the rest of the engineering team
  • Own the product requirements specification process
  • Provide end-to-end technical leadership for specific product developments
  • Work with Project Management and other technical teams to develop new products, meeting time, cost, and performance targets
  • Conduct technical feasibility studies for new applications, usage ideas, features, and technology ideas
  • Understand applications for power electronics with a focus on GaN devices to ensure CGD products help customers achieve their system goals
  • Analyze competitors' products and alternative solutions and propose benchmarking studies
Requirements

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled individual with a strong background in power semiconductor device development, preferably with GaN experience. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a relevant engineering or science subject and a proven track record of managing and leading technical teams.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with practical skills and experience, able to inspire confidence in colleagues, partners, and customers. They will be comfortable working in a fast-paced start-up environment and willing to travel and work with partners and customers in Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
