Job Title: Head of Technology and Innovation

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Remote (with occasional on-site visits)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Head of Technology and Innovation to lead our Technology Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive technology curriculum, managing a team of technology teachers, and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive technology curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor a team of technology teachers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Teaching and Learning: Ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning, monitoring and assessing student progress, and making data-driven decisions to improve student outcomes.
  • Resource Management: Manage departmental resources effectively, ensuring the use of up-to-date tools and technology to support teaching and learning.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to the overall development of the school, ensuring that technology is integrated into the curriculum and instructional practices.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree or equivalent in a related subject (Design Technology, Engineering, etc.).
  • Experience: Proven experience in teaching technology at the secondary level, with a strong track record of success.
  • Leadership: Leadership experience within a school setting, preferably as a Head of Department or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum for Technology, including recent developments and innovations.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
