Manufacturing Team Lead

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead and mentor a multiskilled manufacturing team. This role is crucial in supporting production, implementing growth plans, improving efficiencies, and fostering a continuous improvement focus within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:- Mentor, manage, and build a multiskilled manufacturing team to achieve production goals and objectives.
- Support production and implement growth plans to improve capacity and reduce costs, while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Create operation instructions for the shop floor to follow, ensuring smooth production processes and minimizing downtime.
- Provide front-line support for programming errors and machine errors, escalating to the maintenance team as required, to ensure minimal disruption to production.
- Improve tooling strategies and create programs for CNC machines to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Work closely with new product designs to strive for optimum efficiency and process improvements, ensuring the company remains competitive in the market.
- Manage and lead a team, leading by example and encouraging team development, to achieve business objectives.
- Utilize MRP/ERP systems and have experience in CNC programming languages to ensure seamless integration with the company's systems.
- Strong engineering background and qualification, ideally mechanical, with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and operations.
- Experience in CAD, specifically Solidworks, to design and develop new products and tools.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage and lead a team, ensuring smooth production processes and achieving business objectives.
- Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems to manage production planning, inventory control, and supply chain management.
- Experience in CNC programming languages and 5-axis milling to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Understanding of workshop processes and manufacturing operations to ensure seamless integration with the company's systems.
