Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at Teaching Personnel in Halifax. As a key member of our educational support team, you will play a vital role in supporting students and teachers in a welcoming school community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to deliver engaging and effective lessons across various subjects, ensuring a well-structured and stimulating learning environment.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, helping them overcome learning barriers and achieve their full potential.
  • Assist students with special educational needs (SEN) or those who require additional support, promoting inclusivity and accessibility in the classroom.
  • Contribute to the preparation of classroom materials and learning resources, maintaining a well-organised and efficient learning environment.
  • Support the teacher in maintaining positive classroom behaviour and encouraging student participation, fostering a safe and inclusive learning space.
  • Participate in school activities, trips, and events, enhancing the overall school experience and promoting a sense of community.
  • Provide pastoral care, ensuring a supportive and nurturing environment for all students.
Requirements:
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or above preferred) or equivalent experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Previous experience working with students with SEN or those who require additional support is an advantage.
  • A positive and compassionate approach, with a genuine interest in supporting children's education and well-being.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside teachers and staff.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in different classroom settings and respond to individual student needs.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards learning and school life.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with the option to make it permanent at a later date.
