Senior Physiotherapy Lead

We are seeking an experienced Senior Physiotherapist to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, with a focus on improving patient care and experience.
As a Senior Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for supporting the acute respiratory twilight and on-call Physiotherapy rota, as well as contributing to the development of new skills and knowledge through in-service training. You will work closely with a large multidisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Therapy support staff.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in the acute hospital setting, preferably within Acute Medical Units and Emergency Department. They will also have experience in completing comprehensive geriatric assessments, working in various acute areas, and communicating effectively within a large MDT.
This 7-month fixed term opportunity offers a unique chance to take on leadership responsibilities and develop your skills in a fast-paced environment. As part of this role, you will be expected to support the wider multi-disciplinary team across AMU and ED, which consists of 90 beds in total.
Key responsibilities include:
- SUPPORTING THE TWILIGHT AND ON-CALL PHYSIOTHERAPY ROTA
- CONTRIBUTING TO IN-SERVICE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- WORKING CLOSELY WITH A LARGE MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong communication and prioritisation skills, as well as the ability to stay calm and make appropriate decisions under pressure. You will also need to have evidence of leadership skills, teaching experience, and the ability to work flexibly.
