Job Description

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced Principal Hydrologist to join a specialist UK-based Environmental Consultancy in Bidford-on-Avon.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to lead our hydrology team in delivering high-quality projects for residential, commercial, and renewable energy clients. The successful candidate will have a strong background in hydrology, hydrogeology, EIA, and peat restoration, with a keen interest in team management and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce and manage EIA chapters and their supporting appendices, including GWDTE Assessments.
  • Conduct Private Water Supply Assessments.
  • Carry out Watercourse Crossing Surveys.
  • Develop Peat Management Plans.
  • Perform Peat Hazard Landslide Risk Assessments.
  • Prepare Surface Water Management Plans.
  • Conduct Flood Risk Assessments for Planning Applications.
  • Complete Drainage Impact Assessments.
  • Undertake Hydrological Assessments.
  • Use Infodrainage for Drainage Modelling.
  • Conduct Water Quality Assessments.
  • Develop Pollution Prevention Plans.
  • Carry out Peat Assessments and Peat Surveys for Windfarms.
  • Manage and mentor a team of hydrologists.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Vast technical experience in hydrology, hydrogeology, EIA, and peat restoration.
  • Chartered status or close to achieving it.
  • A keen interest in team management and mentoring.
