Job Title: Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across various subject areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Classroom Support: Assist the classroom teacher in delivering lessons by providing one-on-one or small-group support to students, helping with assignments, clarifying instructions, and ensuring they stay on task.
  • Student Supervision: Supervise students during classroom activities, breaks, and transitions to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment, addressing behavioural issues and reporting concerns to the teacher or school administration.
  • Resource Preparation: Help prepare teaching materials, including photocopying worksheets, organizing instructional materials, and setting up equipment for lessons, ensuring all necessary resources are readily available for the teacher and students.
  • Individualized Support: Work with students who have special educational needs or require additional assistance, implementing strategies and accommodations outlined in Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to help these students succeed academically and socially.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assist in grading assignments and providing constructive feedback to students, collaborating with the teacher to track student progress and maintain records of grades and performance to support ongoing assessment and reporting.
  • Classroom Management: Help maintain a positive classroom atmosphere by implementing behaviour management techniques and supporting the teacher in maintaining discipline and order, encouraging positive behaviour and reinforcing classroom rules consistently.
