Director of Software Development and Architecture

As a seasoned leader, you will oversee a team of software developers and architects, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Your expertise in software development methodologies, design patterns, and architectural principles will guide the technical direction of R3's products. You will drive performance excellence through effective goal setting, feedback mechanisms, and performance evaluations.
Technical Strategy and Planning:
You will define and drive the technical vision and strategy for R3's products and solutions, aligning technical initiatives with business goals and objectives. Your knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices will inform decision-making and innovation. You will develop and maintain architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
Software Development Lifecycle:
You will oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and maintenance. Your expertise in coding standards, quality guidelines, and development best practices will ensure high-quality software solutions. You will drive continuous improvement in development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
You will collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Your strong relationships with stakeholders, customers, and partners will help you understand their needs and requirements. You will act as a technical advisor, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and product roadmap planning.
Requirements:
We are seeking a visionary leader with a deep understanding of software development principles, architecture design, and emerging technologies. You will have a proven track record of leadership and management experience in software development and architecture roles. Your expertise in software development methodologies, design patterns, and architectural principles will be essential in driving the technical direction of R3's products. You will have hands-on experience with modern development languages, frameworks, and tools. Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills are essential for this role. Prior experience in blockchain / DLT technology or financial services industry is a plus.
