King's College London is seeking an outstanding computational research scientist to join our team as part of the IMAGINE lab. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of AI solutions for neurodevelopmental disorders.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in machine learning, experience working with large imaging datasets, and excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for developing and implementing machine learning models to identify neurodevelopmental disorders, as well as contributing to the translation of these models into clinical practice.
The salary for this role is estimated to be around £45,000-£60,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
Job DescriptionAbout usThe IMAGINE lab is a pioneering research initiative focused on advancing the field of AI for neurodevelopmental disorders. Our team consists of experts in AI, biomedical computing, and neurosciences, working together to develop innovative solutions.
We are looking for a highly skilled researcher to join our team and contribute to the development of machine learning models for identifying neurodevelopmental disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python programming, experience working with neurodevelopmental imaging data, and a passion for AI research.
About the roleThis is a full-time post (35 hours per week) with a fixed-term contract until 01/04/2028. The post-holder will be responsible for:
- Organising and managing large multicentre datasets of neuroimaging data
- Developing machine learning / AI tools to identify abnormalities in epilepsy and other neurodevelopmental disorders
- Creating translational tools for evaluation on clinical cohorts
The successful candidate will also be expected to work collaboratively on a range of projects within the IMAGINE lab, including engineers, data scientists, and clinicians.
Required skills and qualificationsTo be considered for this role, you should have:
- A PhD qualified in a relevant subject area (or pending results)
- Experience working with large imaging datasets
- Excellent computer programming abilities evidenced by available code
- The ability to present scientific research in the form of papers, posters, or oral presentations
- Ability to work well as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with clinicians, engineers, and neuroscientists
