Spire Healthcare is seeking a skilled Mechanical Trades Assistant to join their team at Spire Norwich Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a bank contract, providing flexibility to take shifts on when you can. The purpose of this role is to assist the Engineering Manager and work as part of the engineering team to provide a comprehensive and cost-efficient service within the hospital.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Provide an in-house day-to-day reactive maintenance service.
  • Undertake maintenance/testing of equipment, ensuring compliance with current HTM recommendations and legislative guidance.
  • Assist in implementation and preventative maintenance programme for all building services, equipment, and associated records.
  • Identify personal training and development requirements, and discuss appropriate solutions with their line manager.
  • Liaise with external contractors providing specialist services to building/building services/equipment.
  • Provide out-of-hours emergency on-call service.
  • Complete weekly records of plant and services to ensure within required parameters.
  • Order materials required for maintenance purposes, ensuring appropriate levels of back-up stocks, and proper storage and security.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Engineering Manager and undertake any other duties as assigned.
  • Attend 100% mandatory training and relevant ongoing professional development.

Requirements:

  • Qualified as Mechanical Tradesmen to City & Guilds equivalent.
  • Post-qualification experience.
  • Flexibility to work multiple days per week, ideally.
  • Right to work in the UK - This role does not offer visa sponsorship.
