About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a Secondary School setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to individuals with special educational needs, working closely with students and other members of staff and professionals to implement a personalized method of learning.
  • Offer a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, building positive relationships with students through your patient and adaptable personality.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies, monitoring progress and providing feedback to the SENCO and teaching staff.
  • Support the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children and young people, adhering to the DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'.
Requirements
  • A genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Support Worker with students with SEN, particularly with ASC.
  • Understanding of specific learning difficulties such as ADHD and ASD.
  • Familiarity with IEPs and behaviour management strategies.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Holds or is prepared to apply for an enhanced DBS.
