Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Old Age Psychiatrist Specialist to join our team at Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, serving over 1.4 million people across the North West, North Wales, and the Midlands.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to older adults requiring specialist inpatient care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care.
About the Role
- As a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist, you will cover Irwell ward at Clock View Hospital, a 17-bedded acute assessment ward for service users aged 70 and over with a functional mental health problem.
- You will work closely with other clinical and professional disciplines to deliver comprehensive assessments, manage treatment plans, and ensure safe discharges back to the community.
- This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent clinical knowledge, and effective communication skills.

Requirements
- Candidates must have full registration with the General Medical Council and inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligibility within six months of CCST/CCT or equivalent in Old Age Psychiatry.
- A Section 12 (2) Approval and Approved Clinician Status are also required, as well as GMC good standing.
- Strong leadership skills, excellent clinical knowledge, and effective communication skills are essential for this role.

Your Salary
We offer a competitive salary range of £105,504 - £139,882 plus 10% R&R (non-contractual) & 1% on-call, paid yearly.
