About the Role

This is a leadership position responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Hampton Roads Harbor Tunnels, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic through the tunnels. As a key member of our management team, you will be involved in strategic planning, staff management, and emergency response efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Provide program direction and fiscal stewardship for assigned shifts
  • Lead a team by providing effective human resource management expertise
  • Supervise operational functions such as traffic control, public safety, communications, disabled vehicles removal, and enforcement of facility regulations
Requirements
  • Demonstrated success communicating effectively at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to compile concise, accurate reports and draw accurate conclusions
  • Proficiency interpreting, explaining, and applying regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Experience administering Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs
  • Success managing conflict to an amicable conclusion
  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Windows-based software)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience leading and directing the work of others
  • Emergency Operations experience (i.e., military, fire & rescue, police, manufacturing/production)
  • Ability operating traffic management, telecommunications, and audio equipment
  • Strong decision-making skills with experience analyzing complex problems
  • Experience working in 24/7 operations
Salary Information

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on location and experience.
