Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at DO & CO. As an Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out site-wide electrical and mechanical maintenance, installation work, and problem-solving to increase and maintain production efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs in line with company standards.
  • Responsible for all maintenance checks and identifying potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Carry out tasks related to electrical, mechanical, and utilities of all assets in all areas of our operations across multiple sites.
  • Liaise with other departments to communicate effectively and ensure smooth operations.
  • Perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager and adhere to repair schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Effectively carry out all planned maintenance and support fault-finding activities.
  • Proactively repair, maintain, and prevent breakdowns of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, drainage, and other utilities on the unit.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with clients, third-party contractors, and parts vendors.
  • Keep engineering tools, such as manuals, safety protocols, parts, and work tools, up to date and available to staff.
  • Communicate with clients and customers about work times, fault repairs, and downtime, working to minimize customer wait time and maximize solution efficiency.

Requirements

  • Experience working in the food industry.
  • 3-5 years of experience as an Engineer is required.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications – minimum Engineering NVQ or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety practices and regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data-driven with the ability to influence different departments to suggest, implement, and track solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with the team and other departments in the unit.
  • Clear and engaging communication, strong written and verbal English, and the ability to use a variety of methods.
  • Ability to apply knowledge and skills to quickly solve problems when presented with an urgent issue.
  • Strong numerical reasoning ability.
  • Organize time effectively and prioritize tasks based on their level of urgency.
