Babcock International is seeking an experienced Mechanical First Line Manager to join our team at Devonport Royal Dockyard site.

The role involves managing and leading a team of skilled workers, specifically supervising a team of Mechanical Fitters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Following and promoting control of work processes.
  • Ensuring the work place is safe at all times and meets appropriate health, safety and environment standards.
  • Managing the care and growth of a team with reference to time, performance, behaviours and quality.
  • Providing technical guidance in relation to your area of expertise.
  • Delivering project objectives to schedule and quality in accordance with company processes and procedures.

Essential Experience:

  • Good understanding of health and safety processes associated with production activities.
  • Experience in supervising a team or be prepared to learn.
  • Experience of repair/replace/overhaul/maintenance processes.
  • Good leadership qualities and interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Good understanding of all mechanical aspects.

Qualifications:

  • ONC, NVQ Level 3
  • ILM Level 3
  • IOSH

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
