Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to work on the services that power HIVED's emission-free parcel delivery network. The problems your team will be solving cover complex routing and optimisation challenges, building intelligent address and parcel locating solutions, and external integrations.

You will be an integral part of a cross-functional team responsible for the full software development life cycle, from discovery and design to deployment and monitoring. You will have a tangible impact on growing HIVED's software backend in a rapid but sustainable fashion.

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be expected to work autonomously and take ownership of your projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our customers and partners.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain a scalable backend architecture to power HIVED's internal operations and externally facing apps and integrations.
  • Plan and lead projects along with other software engineers, product managers, and end-users.
  • Improve and scale engineering processes, tools, and standards.
  • Maintain current systems and infrastructure, including integrations with 3rd-party services.
  • Monitor and optimise service performance.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer or similar role.
  • Self-directed learning with the ability to quickly gain an operational knowledge of new technology.
  • Familiarity with a range of technologies, databases, and cloud stacks (AWS), and previous experience with Infrastructure as Code.
  • Clear and direct communication with great organisational skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Positive and solution-oriented mindset.
