We are seeking a skilled Food Technology Teacher to join our partner school in Northumberland. As an integral member of our Design and Technology department, you will play a pivotal role in inspiring students to develop their culinary skills and explore the world of food technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging lessons that cover a range of food-related topics, including food preparation, nutrition, cooking techniques, food safety, and the impact of technology on the food industry.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression among students.
  • Guide students through practical cooking sessions, teaching essential culinary techniques and promoting safe food handling practices.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to support growth and development.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in food technology and incorporate relevant industry practices into the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create cross-curricular projects and extracurricular activities related to food technology.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • A degree or relevant qualification in Food Technology, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Food Technology or a related subject to secondary school students (experience in KS3 and KS4 preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques.
  • Enthusiasm for utilizing technology to enhance learning experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues.

Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum.
