About the Role

As a Functional Assessor, you will play a vital role in evaluating the impact of health conditions and disabilities on individuals' daily lives. Our client provides unbiased, comprehensive assessments for claimants of the Government's disability allowance (Personal Independence Payment).

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial reviews, paper-based, face-to-face, video, or telephone assessments to evaluate how a claimant's health condition or disability affects their day-to-day life
  • Observe and report on an individual's ability to carry out activities while analyzing and interpreting clinical information and supporting evidence
  • Create comprehensive 3,000-4,000-word reports of the evidence gathered for each claimant, each day
Requirements
  • One year's post-registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic
  • Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC), without restriction or conditions, and with a valid PIN
  • Excellent observational and communication skills, giving you the ability to listen, empathize, and dig deeper
  • The ability to type at a minimum of 30 words per minute
  • Demonstrable experience with using IT and Microsoft Office, as well as remotely accessing systems such as MS Teams
What We Offer

We take your training and development seriously, with a 12-week training program (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm) and ongoing mentorship. You'll start at £38,500 per annum (pro rata for part-time) plus a 5% retention bonus, with opportunities for salary increases based on performance.
