About the Role

As a Network Safety Specialist with SSE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our electricity distribution network. Your primary responsibility will be to promote and manage operational safety across the Distribution network.

This involves developing and implementing safe systems of work, identifying areas for improvement, and reviewing the safety, quality, and effectiveness of contractors. You will also be responsible for ensuring that protection schemes are commissioned correctly and managing network defects and faults.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have a degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and significant industry experience in a utility or engineering environment. You should have detailed knowledge of technical and safety requirements, as well as excellent analytical and technical skills.
