Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain the kitchen area, adhering to high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Prepare food items as necessary, using company-provided ingredients and following established recipes.
  • Ensure that all food items are stored and handled properly, following strict guidelines to maintain food safety and quality.
  • Manage stock rotation within the nursery's kitchen, ensuring that ingredients are used efficiently and effectively.
  • Follow safety and sanitation guidelines when handling food items, including proper handling and disposal of waste.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the kitchen, dining areas, and surrounding spaces.
  • Assist in the preparation of meals as needed, working collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Assist in the cleaning of dishes, utensils, and other kitchen equipment, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Loading and unloading the dishwasher, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.
  • Filling in all paperwork associated with QBDN's kitchen, including Environmental Health documentation.
  • Managing dietary and allergy food, supporting the needs of individual children and their families.
  • Communicating meals to the rooms, ensuring that all children receive their meals in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Preparing numbers of bowls/plates/cups etc for the required number of children at each mealtime routine.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience in a kitchen setting, preferably in a nursery or early years environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to strict guidelines and regulations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing circumstances.

  • 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday, with no weekends.
