We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Groom to join our team at Yard and Groom. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the yard, ensuring the highest standards of horse care and management.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Administration: Accurately record and administer medications to horses as required.
- Yard Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe working environment, including feeding, mucking out, lead outs, grooming, and bandaging.
- Horse Management: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of horse management principles, including nutrition, health, and behavior.
- Staff Management: Supervise and manage staff, ensuring they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Racing Support: Provide support for racing operations, including occasional travel to races.
- Administrative Tasks: Assist with administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and reporting.
- Driving License: Possess a valid driving license.
- Key Skills: Demonstrate expertise in bandaging, clipping, trimming, and pulling.
- Leadership Skills: Possess strong leadership skills, including the ability to manage staff and make decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with staff, owners, and other stakeholders.
- Racing Experience: Experience working in a racing environment, preferably in a senior role.
- Industry Knowledge: A thorough understanding of the racing industry, including its regulations and best practices.
