We are at a very exciting moment in our history, and we're now planning to embed, enhance and nurture member activism across the UK. As an Activist Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in this endeavour, working under the supervision of the Lead for Activist Communities.

Your primary responsibility will be to improve the experience of active members by engaging directly with them to find ways in which to do so. You will also encourage already active members to progress along the activism ladder by exploring and enhancing existing activist roles and fostering new alternative routes into activism.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team at its inception and be part of something bigger than yourself. If you understand what makes activists tick and what they need to thrive, then this may well be the role for you.

The Activist Engagement Officer will need to be someone who relates easily to others and can inspire and influence change. They will need the ability to implement creative visions and practical plans under supervision and have a proven record of seeing projects through to completion. Excellent communication skills, and an ability to inspire and understand others, are essential. The ideal candidate will thrive as part of a team, with excellent interpersonal skills.

A good understanding of building activism for social change is required, as well as a passion for healthcare and the nursing profession. To succeed at the Royal College of Nursing, all you need to do is think bigger, better and brighter. And with an attitude like that, anything's possible.

**Salary:** £52,000 per annum (including inner London weighting of £)

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including annual leave up to 32 days plus bank holidays and three additional days for the Christmas break. We also offer generous maternity, adoption, paternity, and shared parental leave packages. Our hybrid working model allows for up to 60% of your working time to be carried out from home, with at least 40% spent working in person.
