This temporary full-time position involves providing essential support to students with sensory impairments in a school setting. As a Specialist Sensory Support Educator, you will play a vital role in implementing individual education plans, creating a conducive learning environment, and collaborating with teaching staff and parents to monitor student progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver classroom support for students with sensory needs, utilizing specialist equipment and resources for student learning.
  • Implement individualized education plans in collaboration with teaching staff and parents.
  • Develop and maintain a supportive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of students with sensory impairments.
  • Maintain effective communication and interpersonal skills when working with students, teachers, and parents.
Requirements:
  • Certification in Special Education or Sensory Impairment is essential.
  • Experience working with individuals with sensory impairments is required.
  • Strong ability to adapt teaching methods for individual student needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training in Makaton or British Sign Language would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience working with children or young adults with complex needs is desirable.
Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a school setting, interacting with teachers, parents, and external support services. Some physical assistance may be required to support students with mobility issues.
