Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Cook to join our catering team at Sketchley Hall School. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing healthy, varied, and nutritious meals for students and staff. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene will ensure that our kitchen and associated areas meet the required care standards.
In this role, you will:
- Prepare and cook meals for students and staff, ensuring that they meet nutritional requirements and dietary needs.
- Plan and manage menus, taking into account student preferences and dietary restrictions.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Supervise kitchen staff and provide guidance on food preparation and presentation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students.
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements, particularly in relation to children and young people.
- Experience in a school or similar setting, preferably in a culinary role.
- GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent) and a Level 2 Food Safety qualification.
