Key Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the technical performance of the team, ensuring an exemplary standard of customer service and team technical competence.
  • Responsible for team and self in achieving technical KPIs and designated technical audit standards.
  • Accountable for the technical development of staff and collaboration with the Operational Team Leader for career development.
  • Contribute to successfully managing claims on behalf of Trusts or GPs and NHS England, conducting investigations, quantification, and negotiation of claims to conclusion.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications in insurance, legal, clinical, or medical claims.
  • Extensive experience in handling complex personal injury/clinical negligence claims to a successful conclusion and managing a complex caseload while achieving set targets.
  • Able to explain complex issues to others and overcome barriers to understanding.
  • Expert knowledge of personal injury and clinical negligence claims, including current law and clinical practice.
  • Demonstrable evidence of planning and organizing complex activities and service improvement strategies.
  • Experience in planning, designing, and delivering training interventions to share expert knowledge.
  • Understanding of NHS Resolution business and strategic objectives and philosophy, as well as PEER values.
  • Excellent communication skills, including composing complex correspondence and legal documentation.

We operate several indemnity schemes on behalf of the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, primarily for the handling of liability claims against English NHS Trusts and other commissioners and/or providers of NHS care.

Our claims teams manage claims emanating from former PCTs and Strategic Health Authorities, which transferred to the Secretary of State. We work in an interesting and dynamic climate, contributing to a continually improving claims service.
