About the Role

As a Children's Social Services Team Leader within the Corporate Parenting sector, you will collaborate closely with your team and the service manager to cultivate a high-performance, child-centered, and cooperative culture by empowering your team to continuously enhance their skills to secure the best possible outcomes for our children, young individuals, and their families. Through regular, high-quality reflective supervision sessions with your team, you will advocate for their personal and professional development, supporting them in delivering exceptional services to our children and youth.

You will also oversee practice with all of our children and young individuals, ensuring they have top-notch care plans, consistent meaningful visits, and access to all necessary assistance and support to achieve outstanding outcomes now and in the future. You will serve as a practice leader in promoting quality standards in our interactions with children, young individuals, and their families while championing restorative practices.

This role allows for some remote work but will primarily be office-based, with a minimum expectation of being in the office three days a week, every week.

About You

You must be a Registered Social Worker with Social Work England, possessing experience in statutory social work with children and families. You will maintain an unwavering focus on the child and be uncompromising as a corporate parent. You will exemplify and model restorative practice principles and be passionate about relationship-centered social work, taking pride in your profession.

You will have substantial experience in evidence-based practices with children and families, including in the corporate parenting domain, along with the expertise and approach to effectively supervise and manage social workers and other social care professionals. You will adopt a creative approach and effectively negotiate partnerships to advocate for our children and young individuals.

You will be a collaborative team member with the capability to work independently to high standards and deadlines while remaining reflective and innovative in considering how to support your social work teams in building relationships that positively impact the children and families of Devon. You will maintain a continuous focus on the professional development of both your team and yourself.
