Solar PV Installer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Solar PV Installer to join our client's growing team in Lincoln. As a Solar PV Installer, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining solar panel systems on residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain solar panel systems, ensuring they are safely and efficiently integrated into existing roofing structures.
  • Conduct site assessments to determine the best placement and configuration of solar panels.
  • Work at heights, navigating rooftops and scaffolding to access solar panel installations.
  • Unload and assist with deliveries of materials and equipment.
  • Perform general laboring duties, including cleaning and tidying the work site.
Desirable Qualities:
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with excellent communication skills.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of organization and time management.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to read and follow instructions.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
  • Adaptable and willing to learn, with a strong desire to develop new skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of laboring experience, preferably in a roofing or solar panel installation context.
  • Confidence and ability to work at heights, with a valid CSCS card or willingness to obtain one.
  • Driver's license and reliable transportation, with the ability to travel to and from work sites.
  • Ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check.

This is a physically demanding role, requiring regular working away and overnight stays. However, all related travel expenses will be covered by the company. The salary for this position is circa £22,000 - £23,000, depending on experience, with opportunities for overtime and an annual bonus.
