SEN Teaching Assistant Specialist

We are looking for a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant Specialist to join our team at ACADEMICS in Waltham Forest, London. This is a full-time role with the potential for permanence.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting children's academic and social development, particularly those with special educational needs. You will work closely with SEN children, tailoring support to their individual needs, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters growth and collaboration with teachers and staff.
This position requires a genuine passion for working with children, especially those with SEN. Experience in a classroom setting is highly beneficial, as is a good understanding of different SEN, such as autism, dyslexia, or emotional and behavioural difficulties.
The ideal candidate will have patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt on the spot, strong communication skills, and a proactive attitude to help every child reach their full potential.
Responsibilities and Requirements- Deliver academic support through personalized learning
- Monitor and feedback student progress, contributing to EHCP reviews and updates
- Work closely with senior leadership team members
- Assist with behaviour management protocols
