Description of the Role:


Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for various products, including rigid and flexible boards, multiple layer counts, and high-performance designs. The role will involve creating complete design packages, including design data, fabrication, and assembly drawings, as well as supporting design files. The PCB Designer will work closely with electronic designers and production engineers to develop high-quality products that meet the company's standards.


Main Responsibilities:


  2. Develop PCB designs for new and existing products, ensuring that they meet the company's design standards and requirements.




  3. Create complete design packages, including design data, fabrication, and assembly drawings, as well as supporting design files.




  4. Review and check design data to ensure that production standards are maintained.




  5. Work closely with electronic designers and production engineers to develop high-quality products that meet the company's standards.




  6. Develop and maintain processes to enhance and support PCB design, including the creation of single image and panelised designs that reflect in-house manufacturing rules.




  7. Provide efficient placement and routing analysis for design consideration, ensuring that designs meet the company's requirements for impedance control, power planes, and signal integrity.




Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics engineering and PCB design, with experience working in a design environment and a good understanding of electronic design documentation, fabrication, and assembly processes. They will also have a strong understanding of design for manufacture/test (DFM/DFT) principles and be familiar with PCB fabrication and assembly processes. Additionally, they will have excellent communication skills and be able to work well within a team environment.


Desirable Requirements:

Familiarity with Zuken or Altium EDA tools, understanding of product data management (PDM) systems, and a strong understanding of electronic circuits and components are desirable. Experience of EMC requirements for PCB design and knowledge of UL, FCC, and CE certification are also beneficial. The ability to work to IPC standards and keep up to date with design tools and methods is also essential.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent skills in accuracy, attention to detail, and a logical approach to problem solving. They will also need to have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work well within a team environment.
