School Governors

Manchester City Council is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team of School Governors. As a Governor, you will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of our schools and ensuring they provide the best possible education for their pupils.
Key Responsibilities- Set the strategic vision for the school and hold the Head Teacher accountable for its performance
- Monitor progress towards the school's priorities and targets
- Agree and monitor the school budget to ensure effective use of resources
As a Governor, you can expect to spend approximately 10-20 days per year on your role. This will include attending governing body meetings, subcommittee meetings, and undertaking training or research as required.
Requirements- DBS clearance is required for this role
- Applicants will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check
