About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Industrial Equipment Mechanic Work Leaders at RAF Lakenheath as a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading maintenance tasks and teams, as well as overseeing the overhaul and repair of water treatment and distribution systems, industrial waste treatment equipment, and collection systems.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and train teams in performing all preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Overhaul and repair various types of equipment in water and wastewater treatment plants.
  • Plan and lay out work from blueprints, sketches, specifications, and work orders.
  • Make templates, jigs, and other fixtures required for repair or installation.
  • Utilise safety practices and procedures.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical and Electrical Engineer with experience of leading maintenance tasks and teams, as well as expertise in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. You will hold a BTEC Level 3 / City and Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and have a valid driver's license (Category B). You will also need to undertake a pre-employment physical (including immunisations) for this role.
