We are seeking a skilled Cost Estimator to join our team at Search, a leading provider of rail and infrastructure solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-quality civil engineering projects across Scotland, contributing to a wide range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately estimate costs for civil engineering works, including earthworks, drainage, structures, and foundation work.
  • Collaborate with project teams to assess project requirements and prepare bids.
  • Conduct site visits, understand project scopes, and compile accurate cost estimates.
  • Work with procurement to source and price materials and liaise with suppliers.
  • Prepare and present cost reports to management and assist in budgeting and forecasting.
Salary:

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an estimator in civil engineering, ideally with rail or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and costs.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
