About the Role

Eden Brown Synergy is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our team in a Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) setting. As a key member of our team, you will work with parents, children, and young people to provide assessment and intervention services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assessment and Intervention: Provide comprehensive assessments of mental health and substance use, and implement tailored interventions to support individuals and families.
  2. Keyworker Role: Serve as a keyworker, leading interventions as part of the treatment plan, and refer to other professionals or agencies as needed.
  3. Collaboration and Consultation: Collaborate with the FDAC team to develop intervention plans, and offer consultation, information, advice, and court reports regarding mental health issues.
  4. Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver therapeutic interventions for substance use, parenting, and mental health, utilizing methods such as counseling, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, trauma-informed practice, and other supportive therapies.
  5. Community-Based Services: Perform community-based drug and alcohol screenings in family homes and other community settings.
  6. Protocol Review: Review and raise awareness of protocols between drug and alcohol services and child protection services.
  7. Systemic Assessments: Provide systemic assessments and interventions for children, young people, and their families referred to FDAC North East, addressing highly complex needs.
  8. Collaboration with Other Agencies: Collaborate with other health and social care staff from various agencies to support clients' care.
  9. Treatment Planning: Develop formal assessment and treatment plans using a conceptual framework and evidence-based methods.
  10. Evaluation and Decision-Making: Make skilled evaluations and decisions about assessment and treatment options, considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and complex historical and developmental factors.
  11. Intervention Implementation: Implement a range of interventions for individuals, carers, families, groups, and professional networks, refining approaches as needed.
  12. Client Assessment and Treatment: Take full responsibility for client assessment and treatment, regularly communicating with referral agents and convening multi-professional meetings as required.
  13. Expertise and Consultation: Provide expertise, advice, and consultation to professionals, contributing to treatment plans for referred families.
  14. Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct risk assessments and risk management for individual parents and families.
  15. Communication and Reporting: Communicate assessment, formulation, and treatment plans with sensitivity, monitoring progress in both individual and multi-disciplinary care.
  16. Court Reports and Attendance: Produce high-quality court reports and attend court as necessary.
  17. Record-Keeping and Communication: Maintain high standards of record-keeping, preparing reports for internal use and external agencies, and ensuring effective communication with referrers and professionals.
Requirements
  1. Social Work England Registration: Social Work England registration is required for this role.
  2. Eligibility to Work in the UK: Eligibility to work in the UK is also required.
  3. Full UK Driving License: A full UK driving license is necessary for this position.
  4. Social Work Qualification: A Social Work Qualification (degree or equivalent) is required.
  5. Experience in Children's Services: A minimum of 2 years' experience as a social worker within children's services is necessary.
