Breakthrough Memoir Scholarship

Curtis Brown Creative is committed to promoting diversity in our student groups and finding talented writers who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend our courses. We are pleased to offer a scholarship for our online Writing Memoir & Narrative Non-Fiction course, designed to support writers with limited financial means.
Eligibility Criteria- Applicants must be over the age of 18 and meet our financial eligibility criteria, which includes an annual income of less than £25,000 for unmarried individuals or less than £35,000 for married or co-habiting individuals, with personal savings of less than £5,000.
- Applicants may be asked to provide proof of their financial circumstances in support of their scholarship applications.
- Applicants must not be currently represented by a literary agent.
To apply, please submit the first 3,000 words of your memoir or narrative non-fiction book, along with a synopsis of no more than a page. Our application process is simple, and we encourage all writers meeting the eligibility criteria to apply.
The Breakthrough Scholarship for Memoir & Narrative Non-Fiction Writers will be awarded to the applicant whose submission material shows the greatest potential and promise in our view. The decision will be made by the Curtis Brown Creative team.
