Old Age Psychiatry Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Psychiatrist to join our team in providing high-quality care to older adults. As a Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the mental health needs of this population are met.
About the RoleYou will be responsible for leading the outpatient multi-disciplinary team at Hartley Hospital, working closely with clinical and professional disciplines to deliver holistic care. Your expertise will be essential in assessing new referrals, making formulations, and managing treatment plans to optimise patient outcomes.
The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician for patients in their caseload within the Older Adults Community Mental Health Team. You will provide leadership to the team, ensuring timely assessments, management, and support for individuals requiring contact with Older Adults Mental Health services.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the outpatient multi-disciplinary team at Hartley Hospital, coordinating efforts with various clinical and professional disciplines to deliver comprehensive care.
- Assess new referrals, make informed formulations, and develop tailored treatment plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide expert advice and interventions in a timely manner, being accessible to team members, GPs, primary care staff, patients, and carers.
- Operate within integrated and co-located teams, collaborating with health staff and social services staff to enhance patient care.
- Be part of the allocation procedure within the team, responding to changing needs and priorities.
- Fulfill registration with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- Hold inclusion on or be eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register of the GMC or complete CCST/CCT in Old age Psychiatry within 6 months.
- Demonstrate Section 12 (2) Approval as integral to Approved Clinician Status or demonstrate ability to gain approval.
- Be in good standing with the GMC regarding warnings and conditions on practice.
