Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mammographer to join our team at InHealth Group. As a Mammographer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality imaging services to patients, including breast screening and diagnostic imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Take high-quality mammograms and participate in the unit's Quality Assurance Programme.
  2. Indirectly supervise and mentor Assistant Practitioners in the workplace.
  3. Be competent at obtaining additional views of the breast at Assessment clinics.
  4. Prepare and assist in biopsy procedures, including targeting for stereotactic examinations.
  5. Participate in a rota to cover work on mobile screening sites.
  6. Ensure sufficient supplies are available at mobile sites and arrange transportation if necessary.
  7. Be competent to use all clinical equipment used by the Service.
  8. Keep up to date with current trends and techniques in mammography.
  9. Deal with nervous or anxious clients.
  10. Record clinical observations as part of the screening process.
  11. Be confident and professional when positioning women who are naked from the waist up.
  12. Enter all quality assurance data on the computer.
  13. Deal with equipment malfunction and know when to suspend its use.
  14. Maintain a current CPD portfolio.
  15. Abid by the Ionising Radiation Regulations.
  16. Identify films suitable for teaching purposes.
Requirements
  1. BSc in Radiography.
  2. PG Cert in Mammography.
  3. HCPC registration.
  4. Ability to listen and communicate effectively.
  5. Be able to work co-operatively across organisational boundaries.
  6. Maintain and demonstrate the appropriate technical knowledge for breast imaging.
