We are seeking an exceptional Consultant Haematologist to join our team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled medical professional to take on a key leadership role in our Haematology department. As a Consultant Haematologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Haematology, with experience in managing bleeding disorders. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient outcomes and contribute to the growth and development of our service.

Requirements
  • Registered and hold a license to practise with the General Medical Council
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Haematology
  • An appropriate higher medical qualification ie MRCPath or equivalent and MRCP
  • CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) CESR or (within 6 months of completing a training programme recognised for the award of CCT or equivalent)
  • Substantive NHS experience
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced medical professional who can demonstrate:

  • A sound knowledge of clinical governance practice
  • Experience of working in or setting up a clinical decision unit service
  • Ability to teach undergraduate and post graduate trainees
  • Publications in peer review journals
