Specialty Doctor Emergency Medicine Position

Job Overview
The NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialty Doctor to join its Emergency Medicine team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of the department.
Main Duties
- Ensure the provision of a first-class clinical service
- Provide effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty
- Sustain and develop teaching and research wherever appropriate
- Undertake all work in accordance with the Trust's procedures and operating policies
- Conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the parameters of the Trust's and Medicine Group's service plans

Key Responsibilities
- Share responsibility for the delivery of high-quality care to patients presenting to the Department
- Be the first point of contact with patients
- Examine and treat patients on the shop floor of the Emergency Care Centre
- Support the clinical decision-making of junior medical and nursing staff
Teaching and Training
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in teaching and training activities, including supervising and managing the work of junior medical staff and participating in the training and development of these staff to the standards required by the Royal Colleges.
Audit and Clinical Governance
The post holder will be expected to undertake clinical audit and participate in the Trust's clinical governance activities, including responding appropriately to NICE guidance and changing own and others' clinical practice in response to new clinical developments.
Management and Teamwork
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in departmental consultant and senior staff meetings and attend other departmental, Divisional, and Trust meetings as necessary.
Strategic Development
The post holder will be expected to participate in activities that will improve the delivery of emergency care in the future, including working towards electronic referral and records and electronic MDT practice.
