Job Description

Public Affairs and PR Manager

Chartered Association of Business Schools is seeking a highly skilled Public Affairs and PR Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our public affairs strategy, amplifying our media presence, and advocating for policy and regulatory changes that benefit our members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an impactful public affairs strategy in collaboration with senior management and the Council.
  • Advocate for policy and regulatory changes that benefit Chartered ABS members, particularly in higher education policy.
  • Identify and respond to policy consultations, calls for evidence, and inquiries from government bodies and regulators.
  • Maximize the impact of consultation responses, securing policy changes and recognition for Chartered ABS.
  • Draft briefing notes for politicians and stakeholders on relevant higher education and small business policy issues.
  • Monitor and evaluate legislative and regulatory developments to identify opportunities for Chartered ABS and SBC.

PR Responsibilities:

  • Produce communications materials such as press releases, articles, videos, and social media content.
  • Provide communications counsel and advice to senior management and Council/Board members.
  • Generate PR opportunities around our research, reports, events, and other programs.
  • Develop measurement mechanisms to evaluate the success and impact of PR activities.

Requirements:

  • Passion for public affairs and PR.
  • Strong understanding of public policy and regulatory environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior management and the Council.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
