Teaching Assistant Role in Burnley
Vision for Education is seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant to join our team in Burnley. This role involves supporting students in mainstream secondary schools with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Immediate starts and January 2025 opportunities are available.
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for supporting students with SEN and a commitment to helping them reach their full potential. The school provides a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
- Support students with SEN in mainstream classrooms, ensuring they engage with the curriculum and activities.
- Collaborate with class teachers to plan and deliver differentiated lessons and activities.
- Help students develop self-confidence and independence by addressing emotional, social, and behavioural needs.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored support plans under the guidance of the SENCo.
- Monitor student progress and record observations to evaluate development.
- Promote social integration and foster positive relationships between students and staff.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting students with SEN and commitment to helping them succeed.
- Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and strategies to support diverse needs.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written, with ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
We offer a competitive salary of £22,000 - £28,000 per annum, based on experience.
