About the Company:
Harrison Scott Associates is a leading recruitment agency specializing in the placement of procurement professionals. Our client, a prominent packaging supplier, is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join their National Accounts team.
The Procurement Manager Role:
As a Procurement Manager, you will play a crucial role in providing solutions to new customers, utilizing your expertise in packaging manufacturing and design to source materials and products at the best price. You will work closely with the Business Development Director to input into new business proposals and projects, ensuring effective communication of the purchasing strategy throughout the national accounts retail division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a supplier base to deliver maximum service at the lowest cost, in line with KPI requirements.
- Maintain and develop key supplier/manufacturer relationships to source materials and products.
- Stay abreast of client briefs to ensure a full understanding of the proposed design process and its impact on materials/products required.
- Work closely with the Business Development Director to input into new business proposals and projects.
- Ensure all purchasing transactions are carried out in the most cost-effective manner.
- Ensure effective communication of the purchasing strategy throughout the national accounts retail division.
- Manage and be responsible for the 'On Time In Full measurement' for the business area and associated customers.
- Liaise with central procurement teams to ensure strategy reflects that of the wider company.
- Effectively manage any tender processes.
- Undertake reporting and statistical analysis in relation to associated projects and new product lines.
Requirements:
We are seeking experienced procurement professionals with a minimum of two years' experience in corrugate or polythene and/or design-led packaging solutions. Previous exposure to working with or alongside a national sales/national accounts function and/or major retail customers is advantageous. You will have a strong leadership style, commercial acumen, and effective communication and negotiation skills. Performing under pressure and to exacting timeframes will come naturally to you, and you will pride yourself on your ability to forge and maintain healthy stakeholder relationships.
