We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst/Actuarial Specialist to join our team at Flood Re Limited.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing data analysis and actuarial support to ensure the efficient delivery of our business objectives.

This role will involve working closely with the Actuarial Function to meet our public accountability obligations, as well as supporting other teams across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Provisions Analysis: Assist in the quarterly assessment of technical provisions on both IFRS and Solvency II bases, including associated reserve risk.
  • Data Preparation and Presentations: Contribute to the preparation of data and present initial reserve proposals, ensuring clear and documented rationale.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with senior actuarial members to develop technical capability and succession planning within the department, recommending and implementing new and improved ways of working.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure work is conducted in accordance with corporate policies, relevant laws, regulations, and standards, escalating concerns when required.
  • Deliverables: Meet agreed deadlines for all tasks and responsibilities.
  • General Support: Provide general support to the Actuarial Function and other teams across Flood Re.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in General Insurance (GI) actuarial work.
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative, and approach problems with curiosity and open-mindedness.
  • Effective time management skills, with ability to handle multiple tasks and conflicting priorities.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, estimated around £40,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. The role also comes with a range of benefits, including opportunities for professional development and growth within the organisation.
