Job Description

AECOM is a global infrastructure consulting firm delivering professional services throughout the project lifecycle. We are seeking an experienced Water Environment Consultant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct water quality studies, including baseline studies, environmental impact assessments, nutrient loading studies, and pollution studies involving monitoring and modeling.
  • Perform hydrological investigations, such as flood, drought, and water resource allocation studies.
  • Prepare Water Management Plans and act as Environmental Clerk of Works.
  • Develop sustainable treatment trains and applications for various permissions, including Environmental Permits for flood risk activities and discharges, water abstraction, impoundment licenses, and land drainage consents.
  • Collate, process, and analyze data into existing and new databases using specialist groundwater software, including AquiferWin32.
  • Prepare graphical and GIS deliverables, contribute to continued innovation and business development, and involve yourself with and support the groundwater team and other disciplines.

What You'll Need:

  • MSc or above in hydrogeology or a similar field.
  • First degree in Geochemistry, applied geology, Geophysics, Geography, Earth Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Bioscience, with a focus on Hydrogeology.
  • Ability to conceptualize hydrogeological issues and possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, and a hard-working attitude with ambition and drive.
  • Excellent research and report writing skills, strong numeracy, and the ability to communicate effectively to internal and external clients, both verbally and in writing.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to structure and prioritize work effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and flexibility under pressure, responding to changing project and programme demands.

Estimated Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience.
