We are seeking a Financial Planner - Utilities to join our team at Utility People Ltd. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to provide financial insights and analysis, supporting the development of energy networks.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker with experience in finance, regulatory standards, and data analysis within the utilities and energy sectors. The ideal candidate will be able to enhance reporting, forecasting, and cost-benefit analysis across departments to ensure rigorous regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to support load-related project evaluations.
- Collaborate with teams to prepare and submit regulatory returns.
- Evaluate and ensure load-related activities and expenditures comply with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize load-related volume drivers, improving regulatory performance.
- Identify and recommend improvements in load programs and financial performance.
- Design and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in DSO processes.
- Foster effective communication with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and regulatory teams.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness within the team.
Requirements:
- Experience in finance/data analysis, knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the utility/energy sector.
- Strong analytical background, excellent communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify key issues, and draw logical conclusions.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and other reporting/Business Intelligence tools.
Salary: up to £45,000 DOE, Location: Manchester (Hybrid), Role: Financial Analyst – Energy experience essential. Estimated salary range: £38,400 - £45,000 per annum based on location and industry standards.
