About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join our Enhanced High Care team as a Ward Clerk.

As a key member of our team, you will provide an efficient and effective outpatient reception and appointments service, adhering to Trust protocols and maintaining confidentiality.

You will be responsible for dealing with all aspects of the outpatient appointment function on our computerised patient record system, actively participating in virtual receptionist processes and supporting the ongoing Outpatient Digitisation process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate an approachable, courteous, and efficient appointment service to all Health Care Professions, patients, carers, and relatives.
  • Actively contribute towards service development and maintain good communication skills when dealing with colleagues, patients, relatives, carers, and other health care professions.
  • Use initiative to resolve conflicts in a mutually agreeable way, escalating to management where necessary, and maintain confidentiality at all times as required by legislation and Trust Policy.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Good general standard of education, including Maths and English.
  • Experience of working in a changing environment, computer literacy, and understanding of Information Governance, Data Quality, Patient Confidentiality, and its requirements.

Desirable

  • Previous NHS/Public sector experience, including direct customer care, and previous experience of working within a busy outpatient appointments environment.
