Optical Practice Manager

This esteemed optical group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced branch manager to lead their highly successful practice. With a rich history spanning nearly 100 years, the company has built a reputation on quality of service and patient loyalty.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure practice efficiency and compliance with organisational procedures
- Ensure total customer satisfaction with products and services
- Be an effective leader, motivating, supporting, training and developing staff
- Realise the full potential of the practice with regard to patient numbers and sales targets
- Achieve maximum profitability
- Be responsible for quality control in all areas
- Manage stock control
- Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the practice
- Be responsible for health and safety standards across the practice
- Work with the Marketing Dept. to maximise marketing effectiveness at a local level
- Drive cost efficiencies
- Dispensing spectacles to prescriptions
- Ensure that the sale and supply of spectacles and Contact Lenses only takes place under the supervision of a registered optician for children under the age of 16 years and those who are registered sight impaired (partially sighted) or severely sight impaired (blind)
Personal Specification - Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Previous management experience would be desirable, or a proven track record of developing and supporting staff
- Strong background in customer service
- Experience of driving business performance such as sales, customer satisfaction and cost efficiencies
- Strong leader, able to motivate and engage with staff at all levels
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to put the customer first and act in a professional manner in all situations, able to act with tact and discretion
- Positive and outgoing
- Flexibility – able to be flexible on days worked and provide cover to other practices
- Well-presented and professional
- Attention to detail
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £22,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
