Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Insurance Account Handler to join our client, a leading Independent Insurance Broker in Lichfield, Staffordshire.

The ideal candidate will have experience within the Insurance Industry with particular reference to commercial insurance and possess strong organisational skills, report and letter writing abilities using Microsoft Word & Excel.

About the Role

This office-based position involves working closely with the Account Directors to administer accounts, handle routine enquiries, and issue documentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for presenting risks to underwriters, negotiating terms, and managing their own book of smaller commercial clients.

The role also involves cross-selling other insurance products and working with online quote facilities, with training provided as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day administration of accounts and serve as the primary point of contact for routine enquiries.
  • Present risks to underwriters and negotiate terms.
  • Utilise online quote facilities (training provided).
  • Oversee own book of smaller commercial clients, handling all aspects of the annual insurance cycle, including renewal.
  • Process premiums up to £250,000 per policy class.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2+ years' experience within the Insurance Industry, with a focus on commercial insurance.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with excellent report and letter writing skills.
