Role Overview:


The Technical Lead - Piping Engineering will provide technical leadership to the Piping Engineering discipline, ensuring delivery of high-quality design, manufacture, and installation of small bore and large bore piping, and instrumentation cabinets. The role requires a strong understanding of piping engineering principles, experience in nuclear applications, and excellent communication and facilitation skills.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the Piping Engineering team, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the resolution of engineering issues, including contractual correspondence, technical queries, and design change control.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including Responsible Designers, Execution Designers, Fabricators/Manufacturers, Nuclear Services, and JDO, to ensure effective issue resolution and interface management.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in resolving technical topics and queries, facilitating discussions, and expediting internal processes.


Requirements:



  • Strong mechanical engineering knowledge, with experience in piping engineering, design, manufacture, and installation of small bore and large bore piping, and instrumentation cabinets.
  • Track record of delivering technical expertise in projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment, ensuring high levels of safety, security, and environmental responsibility.
  • Demonstrable awareness of integrated management systems and policies, procedures, standards, and documents applicable to technical and contractual management.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and facilitation skills, with the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and escalate issues as necessary.


Working Environment:


The Technical Lead - Piping Engineering will be based at the EDF Site Delivery Centre (SDC) in Bridgwater, working closely with the Piping Engineering team and other stakeholders to ensure effective issue resolution and interface management.
