Assystem GmbH is seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the construction project remains fully compliant with all UK fire legislation, requirements, and nuclear site licence conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a fire safety management system that includes strategies, standards, and procedures.
- Manage the Fire Safety Team and ensure the construction site fire safety arrangements are adequate.
- Establish and maintain a robust fire safety management system, including policy, standards, and strategies.
- Anticipate future fire needs on the construction site and ensure construction activities can continue in line with project needs while ensuring legislative compliance.
- Manage the Fire Safety Assurance programme to assure fire safety standards across the construction site.
- Produce regular fire safety performance reports and dashboards, identifying trends and early warnings of possible issues.
- Work closely with the Fire Safety Engineer to provide compelling advice and guidance on fire safety solutions.
- Ensure the project-wide fire risk register is established and maintained.
- Membership (or working towards) of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) or equivalent organization.
- Health, Safety & Fire Safety Qualified via an approved professional body or organization.
- Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of Health & Safety & Fire Safety.
- Competent in using Microsoft applications and an aptitude to learn new software packages.
- Proven track record of achieving excellent fire safety results on operating, engineering, and/or construction projects.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop a wide network and working relationships within the construction industry.
- Significant fire safety experience, including within a large project environment.
- Highly skilled in the analysis of technically demanding and detailed information.
- Strong capacity to be future-focused in identifying future fire risks and implications.
- Excellent knowledge of national and international fire safety standards.
- Proven track record of managing fire safety in complex and high-risk operations, process, or construction environments.
- Significant management experience in successfully influencing and engaging senior business leaders and supporting project teams.
