We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Apprentice Family Practitioner to join our team at Somerset Local Medical Committee. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical services to our patients.
Main Responsibilities:- Respond to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment, and referral.
- Provide appropriate preventative health care and advice to patients.
- Prepare medical reports for insurance companies, employers, and statutory bodies.
- Contribute to the development of and adhere to protocols/systems for the management of common medical conditions.
- Participate in clinical governance activity and contribute to the improvement in quality of health outcomes through the practice's audit programme.
- Engage in appropriate educational activity to maintain clinical competence and performance, including the completion of objectives agreed by yourself and the practice in an annual Personal Development Plan.
- Participate in the training and development of nurses, medical students, and GP registrars in the practice.
- Support practice staff and respond to requests for advice and assistance from practice care navigation, care coordination, and nursing staff.
It is the responsibility of all employees to ensure that the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act are complied with, safe working practices are adhered to, and any hazards are reported to the appropriate officer immediately.

- Adhere to the Data Protection Regulations, respecting confidentiality of patients and colleagues and the practice as a whole.
- Maintain personal and professional development in order to maintain their skill levels, participate in the appraisal process, and any training and development that is recognised and agreed with Lead Practice Nurse.
- Undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) – criminal records and barring list checks.
- Work within the operating hours of the surgery.
